Description
The Fender Custom Shop Limited S23 Telecaster Relic Aged Black is a faithful reinterpretation of the spirit of the first Telecasters from the early 1950s, featuring an ash body and a relic nitrocellulose finish that captures the charm of vintage instruments played for decades. The Aged Black look maintains the essential and aggressive aesthetic typical of the Telecaster, while the solid and resonant construction ensures a responsive and defined dynamic response. The maple neck with a ’52 Style U profile offers a full and substantial feel, perfect for those seeking the authentic feel of vintage Telecasters.
The maple fingerboard with a 9.5-inch radius and 21 Narrow-Tall 6105 frets combines modern comfort with Fender tradition, allowing for precise bending and great smoothness across the entire scale. The electronics are handled by a pair of Hand-Wound Tele Tex Special pickups, capable of delivering the classic Telecaster twang with strong midrange presence, crisp attack, and remarkable definition on the high strings.
The original gold-anodized pickguard has been replaced with a black one. This modification was made with the goal of improving the instrument’s tone, making the response more natural and open, and reducing the influence of the metal pickguard on the guitar’s overall behavior. The new pickguard also gives the Telecaster an even more essential and decisive look, perfectly complementing the Aged Black finish.
The 1951/54-style Tele bridge with three saddles complements the bright, direct, and percussive character that has made this model one of the most influential in the history of the electric guitar. Weighing just 3.140 kg, this Fender Custom Shop offers an excellent balance of resonance, dynamics, and comfort, and comes complete with its original case and certificate. This Custom Shop model is particularly interesting for those seeking a Telecaster with a vintage feel. Available from Guitar Sauce in Italy, it is also ideal for collectors and musicians throughout Europe.
