Description
The Fender Malmsteen Overdrive is an overdrive/boost pedal designed to reproduce and draw inspiration from the aggressive, defined, and “edgy” sound that characterizes Yngwie Malmsteen’s tone—that neoclassical shred full of harmonics and sustain. It is designed primarily for melodic rock and metal, powerful and clear rhythms, and leads with sustain and definition. The pedal’s character is full and meaty, not just a simple boost; it’s punchy and punchy, with presence in the mid-to-high frequencies, excellent for adding punch to already crunchy amp sounds, and responsive to the amp’s gain and volume settings. This makes it particularly suitable for those seeking that signature “Malmsteenian” tone, which is clear even at high saturation, with excellent sustain and a quick response.
