In response to strong demand from musicians worldwide, Free The Tone created the Flight Time FT-2Y as the successor to the FT-1Y, which was discontinued in 2016. For the Flight Time FT-2Y, not only the analog and power supply circuits but also the digital circuitry and firmware were redesigned to achieve significant improvements in sound quality.
While retaining the FT-1Y’s extensive feature set (including the world’s first real-time BPM analyzer*1, *2, delay time offset functions, etc.), the FT-2Y further advances both sound quality and functionality by adding instrument/line level switching, instant preset switching, and MIDI output capabilities. In pursuit of superior sound quality and ease of use, Free The Tone has concentrated its latest technologies into this unparalleled delay effects unit: the “FLIGHT TIME FT-2Y.” The real-time BPM analyzer adjusts the delay time by automatically fine-tuning the BPM—based on real-time tempo analysis of the current performance—within a ±20% range of the tempo (BPM) entered via the footswitch.
