Description
This Gibson Custom Shop Ace Frehley Budokan Aged & Signed is far more than a faithful replica—it’s a tribute to one of rock’s most unmistakable guitar identities. Ace Frehley helped define the sound and attitude of 1970s arena rock, blending raw energy, melodic phrasing and a larger-than-life stage presence. His famous Budokan Les Paul became iconic not only for its striking three-pickup layout, but also for its unique wiring: only the bridge DiMarzio PAF is active, while the middle and neck pickups remain intentionally disconnected. This instrument recreates that detail with absolute precision. The ’70s-style sandwich body construction, three-piece maple top and three-piece mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard provide the lively attack, sustain and clarity typical of that era. The thin, fast neck profile and jumbo frets deliver a smooth, expressive playing feel, while the aged nitro finish and Grover banjo tuners add visual authenticity. It’s a guitar built for performers who want that unmistakable Frehley character—big tone, bold looks, and pure rock heritage.
