Description
The 2021 Gibson ES-335 ’59 Sunburst captures the spirit of one of the most iconic semi-hollow guitars ever made, drawing direct inspiration from the legendary late-1950s ES-335s. Its body is built from a traditional three-ply maple/poplar/maple laminate, offering the resonance, warmth and controlled response that have always defined the model.
The mahogany neck features a Rounded Medium C profile, substantial yet comfortable, and is paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard with a 12″ radius and 22 Medium Jumbo frets. The result is a familiar, solid feel that works beautifully for everything from smooth chord work to expressive lead playing.
A pair of Custombucker Alnico III humbuckers provides an open, dynamic and touch-sensitive response, with a rich harmonic character and plenty of articulation. The three-way selector moves effortlessly from the warm, rounded voice of the neck pickup to the more focused and assertive sound of the bridge.
An ABR-1 bridge with stop tailpiece and Kluson tuners completes a specification deeply rooted in Gibson tradition. Elegant, balanced and highly musical, this ES-335 combines classic late-’50s character with the consistency and playability of a modern high-end instrument.
