Description
The 1972 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop is an authentic vintage model that embodies many of the most recognizable features of Gibson’s early 1970s production. The classic Goldtop finish is complemented by solid-body construction with a mahogany “pancake” body and maple top, a typical design of this period that contributes to the instrument’s bold character and sonic personality.
The three-piece mahogany neck features a comfortable Medium C profile, while the rosewood fingerboard has a 12″ radius, 22 Low-Wide frets, and the instantly familiar feel of vintage Les Pauls.
The electronics retain the two original mini-humbuckers, the true distinguishing feature of the Les Paul Deluxe: pickups capable of retaining the body and harmonic richness typical of a humbucker, but with greater definition, brightness, and high-frequency response. The bridge is the classic Tune-O-Matic ABR-1.
The instrument is in condition consistent with its age. The selector switch tip is not original, and there is a crack on the bridge pickup mounting ring, details that do not detract from the overall charm and authenticity of a Les Paul that is now over fifty years old.
An original 1972 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop is today a particularly interesting choice for both musicians seeking the character of vintage Gibsons and collectors. This example with strong historical appeal is available in Italy from Guitar Sauce is also aimed at enthusiasts of vintage and collectible instruments throughout Europe.
