The JTG MK1 Fly Yellow 2025 is the Chinese-made version officially licensed by James Tyler Guitars, built to faithfully reproduce the specifications of the original California-made models. Designed to deliver the look, feel, and signature tone of a true Tyler instrument in a more accessible format, it combines excellent craftsmanship, premium components, and a distinctive sonic character.
The body is crafted from two-piece alder with a high-gloss Fly Yellow finish that highlights its sleek, ergonomic contours. The neck is made of Canadian hard maple with a comfortable yet solid Standard ’59 profile (.845″–.975″), paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard featuring a 10″–14″ compound radius for smooth playability across the register. Jescar FW51100 medium jumbo frets and a 42 mm synthetic bone nut ensure accurate intonation and precise setup.
Electronics are designed according to JTG specifications, featuring an HSS configuration with two JTG 5500 single coils in neck and middle positions and a JTG Super humbucker in the bridge. A 5-way selector switch, CTS pots, and the active JTG Custom Midboost preamp provide exceptional tonal flexibility and clarity, while the automatic coil split in position 2 offers sparkling single-coil textures. This system delivers a wide dynamic range and tonal definition suitable for both clean and high-gain settings.
The hardware is finished in black, including a JTG 2-post tremolo bridge, JTG locking tuners, and metal dome knobs. A black pearloid pickguard and black headstock with gold logo complete the refined and modern aesthetic.
