Poly Effects Kanso is a unique overdrive pedal, born from a collaboration between Josh Smith and Poly Effects with the goal of achieving maximum tonal output with the minimum number of controls. At the heart of the design is a single, large multifunction knob that encompasses bias, gain, and character, allowing for effortless transitions from open, dynamic, and transparent sounds to rich, aggressive, and almost fuzzy saturations. The Kanso also offers four different selectable clipping modes—Schottky, Germanium, LED, and Silicon—each with a distinct response and personality. Thanks to digital parameter management and MIDI compatibility, every setting can be precisely recalled, transforming this compact pedal into a surprisingly versatile creative tool.
