Description
This stunning 1951 Fender Champion 600 is a one-of-a-kind piece with an unmistakable character, a true dream for vintage amplifier lovers. Over the past decade, these little gems have become increasingly sought-after and appreciated. This particular example is in excellent aesthetic and functional condition, representing a splendid vintage amplifier from Fender’s golden era, as well as one of the first amp models released alongside the Deluxe.
It’s so compact that your wife will be happy to see it in the living room, replacing your 200-watt Marshall stack you love to blast… The sound of these Champions is simply fantastic: bright, warm cleans, and full of harmonics between 6 and 8 on the pot. Pushed to the max (yes, this one goes up to 12!), with a Les Paul connected, it produces a sound almost reminiscent of a “gated” fuzz, truly wild and unique. Perfect for recording or playing at home.
This Champion 600 features a 5B1 circuit, and the tube set includes an old-stock 6SJ7, an old-stock 6V6GT, and a recent TAD 5Y3GT/5U4M rectifier. The original Cleveland-branded 6″ speaker is dated week 22 of 1950 (code 433022 on the chassis), and the amplifier’s serial number is 1900, dating back to 1951.
The original 110V transformer, which has been replaced with a recent 220V one, is included, along with the power cord for convenient use in Europe without the need for an external power converter. This truly exquisite vintage amplifier is in excellent overall condition!
