Description
The Pete Cornish P-1 Battery Free represents one of the most iconic and refined interpretations of modern fuzz, developed according to the design philosophy that made the Cornish name famous in the rigs of the world’s greatest guitarists. This “Battery Free” version completely eliminates the use of an internal battery, ensuring greater operational stability and seamless integration into professionally powered pedalboards.
The circuit is built around an input stage featuring high RFI rejection buffering—a hallmark of Cornish pedals—which preserves signal integrity and maintains consistent tone even within complex effects chains. At the heart of the P-1 lies a highly dynamic and musical fuzz circuit, capable of shifting from creamy, tight saturation to more open, aggressive textures while always retaining definition and control.
Volume, Tone, and Sustain controls allow for precise sound sculpting. The Sustain control manages the amount of distortion and compression, while the Tone control shapes the high-frequency response without ever becoming harsh. The result is an incredibly versatile fuzz that adapts effortlessly to both vintage and modern musical contexts.
True to tradition, the unit is entirely hand-wired and hand-built by Pete and Lynda Cornish. Its rugged die-cast metal chassis, heavy-duty switch, and carefully selected components ensure absolute reliability, quiet operation, and consistent performance over time. This is a pedal designed for professionals who demand the very best, without compromise.
