Description
The Pete Cornish SS-2 Battery Free is the modern evolution of one of the most respected overdrive/distortion pedals ever made, preserving its iconic tone while offering a more practical and reliable power solution. This version eliminates the internal battery entirely, ensuring greater stability, reduced maintenance and seamless integration into any professional pedalboard.
Sonically, the SS-2 remains a benchmark for clarity, dynamics and control. It delivers a wide gain range, from warm and transparent breakup to a fuller, more defined distortion, always maintaining excellent note separation. Even at higher gain settings, the sound stays articulate and never becomes muddy or overly compressed.
The Volume, Tone and Sustain controls provide precise and musical shaping. Sustain adjusts the level of saturation while retaining a natural feel, Tone allows detailed tonal sculpting, and Volume ensures perfect level matching or can be used to push the amplifier.
Its dynamic response is immediate and highly expressive, making it feel like a true extension of the instrument. Built to Pete Cornish’s renowned standards, the SS-2 Battery Free offers low noise, outstanding reliability and pristine signal integrity.
