Description
The Pete Cornish ST-2 is one of the most sophisticated pedals ever designed by the renowned British builder, originally created for use in David Gilmour’s custom effects systems. It has since become a professional standard thanks to its ability to shape tone with absolute precision while preserving full musical integrity.
At its core is a high-quality RFI-rejecting input and bypass buffer feeding a discrete Class A multi-stage transistor amplifier. This design ensures a clean, stable and highly dynamic signal path, with a carefully controlled gain structure tailored for modern players.
The Gain, Treble, Bass and Volume controls offer exceptional flexibility. Gain provides up to +15 dB across all frequencies, while the active EQ allows both boost and cut: Treble operates at 3 kHz and Bass at 30 Hz, each with a ±16 dB range, enabling precise tonal shaping. Suggested neutral settings provide a perfect starting point for dialing in your sound.
The ST-2 can be used on its own to correct tonal or signal deficiencies, or within an effects chain to refine and enhance other units. With its 1 MΩ input impedance and high-quality buffering, it preserves signal integrity even in complex rigs.
Each unit is hand-built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish, housed in a rugged die-cast enclosure. The result is a reliable, ultra-low noise professional tool designed to become a core part of your tone.
